Getting Started
City Art Walks catalogs public art in cities worldwide. The Explore page uses the map and list together: browse our global collection, then focus on wherever you pan or whichever city you select. When you allow location, we can center the map on you — that is optional, not limited to one region.
Auto-Location
If you allow it, the map can use your position to show public art near you; you can still browse any city worldwide that we list
Interactive Map
Markers show each artwork at its real coordinates anywhere on the map
Detailed List
The list shows the same pieces as the map view, with images and descriptions
Search & Discovery
Search helps you find art pieces and artists across the catalog for the area and filters you are viewing.
Smart Search
Search by art piece title, artist name, or description
Real-time Results
Results update automatically as you type
Clear Search
Clear the search to return to the full set of pieces for your current map or city context
Map Navigation
The map loads public art for the viewport as you move — pan worldwide to explore different countries and cities.
Art Markers
Each marker represents an art piece at its exact location
Dynamic Loading
Art pieces load automatically as you pan and zoom the map
Click Details
Click any marker to see detailed information about that art piece
Pan & Zoom
Drag to pan around the globe and use the mouse wheel or pinch to zoom in and out
View Modes
Switch between different view modes to explore art pieces in the way that works best for you.
Desktop Layout
Side-by-side view with art list on left and map on right
Mobile Toggle
Use the floating button to switch between map and list views
Card Details
List view shows detailed cards with images and descriptions
Interactive Features
The explore interface includes interactive features to help you connect art pieces between the map and list views.
Hover Sync
Hover over art cards to highlight corresponding map markers
Quick Navigation
Click art piece titles or images to view detailed pages
Action Menus
Use the menu button on cards for additional actions like adding to path
Building Your Path
Collect pieces from any city we cover to build walking paths for that area.
Add to Path
Click the menu on any art card and select 'Add To Path Map'
View Collection
Access your collected pieces from the cart page
Generate Routes
Create optimized walking paths from your collected art pieces
Browse by country and city
Jump anywhere in our directory: pick a country, region, and city to load that place’s public art on the map and in the list.
City browser
Scroll to the hierarchical navigation (country → region → city)
Location jump
Choose any city we list to move the map and content to that location worldwide
Auto-update
Art pieces and the map refresh automatically for the city you selected
